This course is designed to provide participants with a basic but comprehensive knowledge to properly insert a peripheral IV catheter. Participant will receive in-depth venipuncture theory with multiple opportunities for hands-on participation to enhance the learning process. Locating veins by palpation and cannulation will be part of the practice. The Intravenous Nurse Society (INS) 2000 Standards of practice and guidelines will be incorporated into this program.
